Preparing for the Perfect Wedding

If you have had a close friend or family member plan a wedding before, you know how hectic it can be. So when you begin to plan your wedding, you will need to stay as organized as possible to keep everything in order and to hold onto your sanity.

First step in planning a wedding is buying a wedding planner book or meeting with a professional wedding planner. You will find that the easiest way to go is to have a wedding planner take you step by step through everything. If you don’t have the money to spend on a wedding planner or you prefer to do it all yourself, you definitely need a wedding planner book.

The second step in planning a wedding is to come up with a budget. Then you can decide how much money you have available for each aspect of the wedding; location, food, attire, decorations and flowers, DJ or band, photographer, etc.

The next step is to find a location for the wedding. You may have something in mind already. If not, you will need to decide whether you want the ceremony in a church, outdoors, or at another location. There are many places that you can find in the phone book that specialize in hosting wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Once you have selected the location, immediately check to see what dates the location is available for booking. Some places require you to book a year in advance if you have a specific date in mind. So if you are hoping to book a location and you want the plan the wedding for less than a year away, you will have to be somewhat open-minded on the date and time.
